In the early 1980s, in Laguna Beach California, a kid named Shawn first scrawled his surname with a broad tipped Sharpie along the stringer of a surfboard he had just shaped. The style became forward thinking yet laid back, against the trend and forging the trend. It dared kids from the beaches and the streets of the West Coast to have a good vibe. It was the early 80s, and Stussy was born.
